Join us for our annual exploration of fountain pens! Test our full collection of pens, inks, and fountain-pen-friendly notebooks and learn all about these smooth-writing pens. Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer questions and walk you through the basics.
In addition, this year we'll be welcoming special guests Josh Lax of J.J. Lax Pen Co and Esterbrook Sales VP Bryan. Josh Lax is an expert nibmeister who grinds custom fountain pen nibs for the best possible writing experience. He's partnered with Esterbrook to create some of their unique nib offerings. 10 a.m. Coffee and Fountain Pen Basics
Esteemed nibmeister Josh Lax will give an introduction to the fabulous world of fountain pens. Join him for a morning chat to learn about fountain pen basics, cleaning, and maintenance. Bring a cup of your favorite coffee and all your burning pen questions!
11 a.m. Nib Smoothing Workshop with Josh Lax
Come learn from a master! If you've ever wanted to try customizing your own fountain pen nibs to adjust the feel and ink flow exactly to your liking, this workshop is for you. Attendees will get a full set of tools and a special, custom surprise from Esterbrook.
1 p.m. Appointments for Custom Nib Grinds from Josh
Sign up for an appointment to get a custom nib grind on your favorite pen.
1:30–5:30 p.m. Fountain Pen Exploration with The Paper Mouse and Esterbrook
Over the past year the Paper Mouse team has been growing our collection of fountain pens, inks, and notebooks to include some exciting new brands and options. During this event we’ll have all of those different options available for you to try! Whether you’re new to fountain pens and curious about how they write or you’re a fountain pen lover who’s looking to try out a new pen, this is a great chance to compare the options, explore different ink colors, and find your new favorite notebook to write in.
At this year's event we’ll be joined by Sales VP Bryan of Esterbrook Pens, one of our newest brands at the shop. Bryan will be hosting an Esterbrook trunk show where he’ll answer pen questions and share his collection of Esterbrook pens, including different styles we don't yet carry at the shop. This is a great opportunity to talk to an expert and try out a variety of pen models.
No RSVP is needed for this event. We’re eager to share our collection and introduce you to the wonderful world of fountain pens!
Shipping
Online orders are packaged within 2–3 business days after purchase and are typically sent via USPS Priority Mail. If a shipping carrier is not specified at checkout, we may use similar services such as UPS Ground or USPS First-Class Mail that could take an additional 2–3 days to arrive at your address.
Customers who would like to pick up their orders may select the Pick Up option at checkout. Completed orders are available for pickup during our regular shop hours:
Monday-Saturday: 11am–6pm
Sunday: 11am–5pm
If you prefer curbside pickup, please call (617) 928-9898 when you arrive outside.
Local Area Delivery
For customers who live within three miles of The Paper Mouse, we offer local area delivery services when you make a purchase on our website.
Customers with eligible addresses will see a local delivery option at checkout when placing an order online. Delivery has a flat-rate fee of $5. Orders will be delivered after 5pm on the next business day after the order is received.
International Shipping
International orders may be subject to import fees, duties, or tariffs that are determined by the country of delivery. The Paper Mouse is not responsible for these charges, nor are we able to calculate them prior to shipment. We advise that you work with your local Customs office to determine these charges prior to placing an order.
If a shipment is refused due to unwanted fees, duties, or tariffs imposed by Customs in the country of delivery, you will be charged for both original and return shipping, as well as all associated fees.
Please understand that delays due to Customs processing are out of our control.
Out of Stock Items
In the event that an item you purchased goes out of stock, we will attempt to contact you to see if you wish to exchange with a different item or receive a refund. If we are unable to reach you within 72 hours, we will automatically refund the unavailable item and ship the remainder of the order to you.
Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns and exchanges for unused or defective items for up to 30 days with proof of purchase. Returns and exchanges on food, calendars, dated planners, and engaged pens are not accepted. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. For more details, please see our Refund Policy.
