Behind the Scenes at a Gift Show
This week our team is visiting NY NOW, a huge gift show that takes place each year in New York City. We’ve attended the show ever since our shop opened in 2015, scouring the hundreds of exhibitors to find our favorite goodies to share with you. Vendors from around the country and around the world bring their newest and best designs, setting up inviting displays inside 10’ x 10’ booths to entice passersby.
We do weeks of research and planning before visiting a trade show in order to make the most of our time there. It’s a whirlwind experience! There are far too many booths for us to see them all, so we try our best to learn about the vendors before we visit. Each day of the trade show, we do miles of walking through the cavernous Javits Center in New York City, checking out new designs from our favorite vendors and meeting new ones, stumbling now and then across a fabulous find that we’ve never heard of before. Each night we reconvene over a tasty meal to talk about what we’ve found and what we love best so we can make tough decisions about which goodies belong in our shop. By the end of the four-day show we’ve talked to scores of vendors, ordered our favorite finds, and eaten our way through the city, and we’re ready to make the drive home.

@Mimi Hope you’re able to drop by sometime! Yoseka was so amazing. We loved their vast array of stationery, and were super impressed by their customer service.
Love your store! Enjoyed seeing your journey through NYC trade show. Fascinating!
I have to plan a visit to your store in Newton! Love the insider view of the stationery trade show. Yoseka seems a lot like Paper Mouse.
